Universal Studios call their theme park "The Best Theme Park in The WORLD".  A reputation it fights hard to keep. At UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ESCAPE you'll experience the fun and excitement of :- 

• The original UNIVERSAL STUDIOS FLORIDA

• and the new UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE. This is a water theme park so be prepared to get wet, ah, you really need swimming costumes and a towel or two!

• UNIVERSAL STUDIOS City Walk.

• and UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ESCAPE Resorts.

The original UNIVERSAL STUDIOS is a real day out for everyone young and old.  The new ride is called the TWISTER and is only for the young at heart and those who do not mind being frightened out of their skin.  These types of rides are not for people with any type of back or heart complaint.  As the advert says it will "blow you away".          

The well known producer and creator of "ET" Steven Speilberg is a creative consultant to the park.  The park boasts the worlds first 3-D Cyber Adventures together with other themes as "Back to the Future Rides", "The Biggest Monster in Movie History",   "Jaws", "Earthquake", "Hercules & Xena", plus such attractions as the "Nickelodeon Studios", "Barney" and a host of others.  The "ET" ride is every kids dream. This is truly a good day out. 

If you wait until 7.30p.m. a stunt display using speedboats and pyrotechnics takes place on the center lake. Its well worth the wait at the end of a tiring day. Stand to close to the edge of the lake and you get wet as speedboats make tight turns. You were warned.

As a matter of caution.........wear soft shoes as its tiring on the feet, remember the hat, sunglasses and suntan cream as there is not much shade at this theme park. 

ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE is Universal Studios latest theme park. I visited this park in July 2000 for another exhausting day out. I also achieved the riding of each coaster at least twice and the new ride called the "HULK" is a must. This ride has the most unusual start which you will have to experience as I am saying nothing.

Below you can see Popeye's water ride. Now this is a wet ride...... a real soaker. There is however a covered container on the center of the boat to put your items so they don't get wet.

If you like flume rides there are two at this park. Both are excellent and once again you get a proper soaking. The first picture shows the larger flume ride and the boat takes about 30 people.

The second flume ride takes just 8 people. If you look carefully you can see the boat in the center of the picture just about to hit a solid wall of water.

There are lots of rides and attractions for younger children in the park. You can even have your hair braided or your face painted in many different designs. Boys like to have the Superman face and for girls, this is one or many shown below.

All the gardens around the site are picturesque with lots of differing flowers. Here is a sample of just three.
